We are seeking to appoint three Teaching Assistants for a September start.

Grangetown is a vibrant, friendly and welcoming primary school. We wish to appoint three highly motivated and hard-working Teaching Assistants to provide support for pupils and teachers.

  • Post 1: Key Stage 1. 30 hours per week, mainly in Year 2. Daily hours are likely to be as follows: 8.30-3.30 x 3 days, 8.30-4.00 x 1 day, and 8.30-12.00 x 1 day.
  • Post 2: Year 4. Full time. 37 hours per week – 8.30-4.30 (4.00pm finish on Fridays)
  • Post 3: Year 6. 37 hours per week – 8.30-4.30 (4.00pm finish on Fridays)

We are seeking suitably qualified candidates, with appropriate experience and with the ability to support in class as well as 1:1 and with small groups of children Applications are invited from enthusiastic, caring and highly committed applicants who are able to make a positive contribution to the life of our school.

The successful applicants will:

  • Be proficient in supporting aspects of teaching and learning, under the direction of the classroom teacher
  • Demonstrate good subject knowledge, appropriate to the year group, especially in English and maths
  • Have high expectations for all children
  • Be a team player but also able to work independently when required
  • Be an effective communicator, who is willing to participate fully in the life of the school.
