Spring Term

January

We welcomed everyone back to school this week, refreshed after our two week break. We have really got back into the swing of things and we have loved getting our teeth into the new units of work. One of the favourites this week has to be English, where we are reading a simplified version of Matilda as our class text. We have been delving into the characters this week and we plan on writing our own story, using this as a basis. In computing we begun learning about 3D design and we cannot wait to continue this next week. In PE, we enjoyed having Mrs Bracknall again for PE as last half term we did swimming at Southmoor. Please see some photographs of this below.

Autumn Term

December

The end of term is fast approaching now and what a busy few weeks we have had! Thanks to all of the parents and carers who attended our crafty parent workshop at the beginning of December. We were also busy practising our two songs for our Christmas Extravaganza and this went amazingly, with everyone singing their heart out. PE has been going swimmingly this half term and it is the last of our swimming sessions this week. Everyone has grown in confidence in the water and we have been really impressed by how well the class have got themselves ready each week too. We all had fantastic fun at our Christmas party, please see pictures below.

November

We have had such a busy half term and there's plenty more to come! We have been enjoying learning all about the Stone Age and then having a chance to take part in a Stone Age workshop was out of this world - you can read more about this below. We also started attending swimming at Southmoor for our PE sessions this half term and have been putting in 100% effort. Coming up soon we have our parent workshop, parent consultations and our Christmas Extravaganza all before the end of term.

October

Well, what a fantastic time we had at Broom House Farm this week! We loved looking for autumnal signs on the farm and investigating the leaves we could find, before picking apples from the orchard. The pigs and goats really were cheeky when we visited. The forest adventure was by far the highlight of the day and it was great to see everyone having so much fun, especially on those toboggans. We can't wait to visit again in Spring. You can see a small selection of our photos below.

September

We welcomed our new class into Key Stage Two last week and they have begun to settle really well into our Year 3 routines.

Last week, the class worked so hard in English and loved working together to create human sentences. They were great at applying their knowledge of capital letters and full stops.

This week,  everyone enjoyed their first PE session. We played ‘dishes and domes’ for our warm up game and then practised our throwing and catching skills working on our precision and accuracy 🎾
