Autumn Term

Backhouse Park

Year 2 had a wonderful morning visiting Backhouse Park looking for signs of Autumn. The children found conkers, orange and brown leaves and trees without leaves. We took out iPads with us and took photographs of the trees so that we can sketch them next week in our art lesson.

Writing eBooks

Year 2 have really enjoyed their computing lessons this half term! They have used book templates
brilliantly on their iPads using a computer programme called Write-Read, to create their own ebooks about
themselves. The children have worked well and have been able to change background colour, add text,
search and add illustrations. They will now be looking at how to take and add their own photographs before
they share their books with their friends.

How to Catch a Star

Our first class reading book in Year 2 is called How to Catch a Star. We are going to use the book to help us to write our own story. We thought about what we would do if we had our own stars. The children designed, named and coloured in their own stars to look after and play with in school.
