Some of the business of the
Governing Body is shared between Committees.
Some of these are 'statutory' committees, which by law all
governing bodies must have. Others are set up at the
discretion of the Governing Body, to address ongoing
business or to deal with particular initiatives or projects.
The statutory committees are: Pupil Discipline, Pay
Review, Appeals, Complaints, Performance Management.
At Grangetown we have established the following
three non-statutory committees to deal
with ongoing business:
1.
School Improvement Committee (Curriculum, Teaching &
Learning, Pupil Performance). 2.
Resources Committee (budget, staffing, premises & site).
3. Pupil Progress,
Monitoring & Challenge Group (Data, Pupil Performance,
Raising Standards, School Improvement Plan).
During Autumn 2011 we will be reviewing our Committee
structure, as well as the membership of committees. In
particular, we will look at whether we make the following
change: Do we change the name of the School Improvement Committee
to the Teaching, Learning & Curriculum Committee?
Decision: Yes,
Governors agreed this change on 5 October. |
