3. News, Messages, Reminders!

Genes for Jeans Day
It’s non uniform day on Friday 7th October. The children can, if they wish, wear jeans or denim...or just regular non-uniform if they prefer. Those who wear non uniform should bring 50p - we will donate this to Jeans for Genes charity - this is a very worth cause, supporting research into genetic disorders that affect babies.

Foundation Stage Parents’ Meeting
Thank you to all of the parents that attended the meeting - we hope you found it very useful.

Family Learning
This term, we are hoping to run a BTEC Sports Course with SAFC - there are still places available - or full details ask at the school office. (Next term, it’s time for more DANCE with Sunderland University - we will be recruiting for that course in November).

Homework
Could all parents and carers ensure that children return homework on time.

Dogs
Please note that dogs are not allowed on the school site.

Headlice Checking Request
Can all parents please check your child’s hair regularly for headlice please.

Parking
Can parents please remember to park in the two open areas at the bottom of Spelterworks Road.  Anyone who parks directly outside of school may cause a dangerous hazard.  Thank you.

A note on ear-piercings
If your child has their ears pierced, please ensure they wear only very small studs.  This is to avoid any accidents. As a general policy, we would
discourage the wearing of any form of ear-rings or studs in school - however we understand that some children have had this done and that as a parent you may feel that you want your child to wear small studs.

Attendance
Every week we give out awards to our best attenders.  Please do all that you can to support your child’s attendance in school.  Thank you
