Our year 5 children are working with No
Limits theatre this term. As well as taking part in a drama
workshop with Pady O’Connor, director of Theatre Mimi, the
children will visit the No Limits theater itself to see a
production of Phileas P.Souper.

The Workshop
The workshop took place on Wednesday 13 October. Here's a
report from Eva (year 5):
Last week Pady came in to teach
us drama. We walked into the hall excitedly. We were surrounded by
hats, masks, coats, bags, and even a stand with a bird cage! It felt
amazing!
Firstly, Pady showed us some not-very-detailed masks. We
had to guess their expressions. We said things like scared, happy,
shocked, confused and lots more!
Next, Pady showed us the leather
masks and the half-face masks.
After that Pady asked us if we would
like to act with the masks. Actually, mime because we weren't
allowed to speak.
Finally, it got near lunch. Time had flown by
because we had been having so much fun. We helped Pady load his car
with his gear, said bye and thankyou. Then off he went.
I couldn't
wait to go to 'No Limits Theatre' to see him again. It had been a
great day!

Phileas P Souper
The children will see Phileas P Souper on Wednesday 17
November.
Here's a description of the production, from the No Limits
website:
Come and see four musicians and two miming clown artistes
travel hysterically, beautifully, and magically around the
world almost literally in 80 minutes.
From a tandem bike
through Paris to a late train in Siberia, they travel the
world offering their tender, comical observations as they
go.
Inspired by the silent movie era, come and see them
battle the elements, the animals and the bicycle pumps, as
they embark on this melodramatic circumnavigation of the
globe. |
