RE teaching aims to help children respect the beliefs and practices of others as well as to discover more about their own. The broad content of the RE curriculum is based upon the Local Education Authority's agreed syllabus. Teaching reflects the fact that the religious traditions of Great Britain are mainly Christian, whilst acknowledging the important role of other religions in modern British society.
